Construction

Pella’s virgin vinyl formula is performance-tested to ensure excellent weathering, durability, and color retention. Unlike recycled alternatives, virgin vinyl provides a superior finish that resists fading, cracking, or peeling, meaning you’ll never need to paint, stain, or refinish your windows. Additionally, Pella’s energy-efficient multichambered frames and metal-reinforced interlocking sashes ensure these windows exceed industry standards, offering long-lasting reliability and peace of mind.

Frame Construction: Pella Hurricane Shield Windows

The Pella Hurricane Shield Series sets the standard for durability and energy efficiency, offering advanced premium vinyl frame construction designed to withstand the toughest challenges coastal environments can present. Featuring virgin vinyl, a high-quality material that ensures lasting performance and color retention, these windows are built to deliver strength, durability, and protection.

Automatically Locking Hardware

Every single-hung and sliding window in the Hurricane Shield Series is equipped with an automatic locking system. This feature engages as soon as the window is closed, providing seamless security for your home without requiring additional effort—keeping both your family and belongings safer.

Reinforced Frame Design for Precise Installation

The Hurricane Shield frame is designed with pre-drilled installation holes, making the installation process more efficient and precise. This thoughtful engineering helps contractors achieve a seamless fit, ensuring optimal window performance and structural integrity.

Certified for the Toughest Conditions

Tested and certified to meet the most stringent standards, Pella Hurricane Shield Series windows are approved for use in Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and the High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ). This certification ensures these windows deliver uncompromising protection against hurricane-force winds, debris, and severe weather.

Pressure Prevention System

With a recessed sash design, Pella’s windows reduce the risk of damage from extreme winds and enhance resistance to forced entry. Single-hung windows include a non-tilting sash for an added layer of protection, reinforcing the window’s durability in high-pressure scenarios.

Energy-Efficient and Strong Frame

The premium vinyl frame features up to 18 insulating air chambers, reducing heat transfer to keep your home comfortable year-round. These multichambered frames not only deliver exceptional energy efficiency but also add structural support to the window, preventing warping, bowing, and sagging over time. Thick vinyl walls further enhance the frame’s integrity, ensuring performance even under extreme conditions.

Performance

Pella Hurricane Windows are expertly designed for precise installation, ensuring seamless performance from day one. Engineered to meet the most stringent coastal requirements, these windows offer reliable protection against the elements, withstanding hurricane-force winds and flying debris.

The vinyl frames are built to resist warping, cracking, and fading, reducing maintenance needs over time. For homeowners, this means fewer repairs and a consistently polished appearance, even after years of exposure to coastal weather.

Noise Reduction and Comfort

The Pella Hurricane Shield Window & Door design goes beyond impact protection to enhance the overall comfort of your home. The laminated glass reduces noise pollution more effectively than standard, non-laminated glass. Whether it’s storm winds, barking dogs, or heavy traffic, these windows make your space a quieter and more enjoyable place to live.

Additionally, the laminated glass blocks nearly all UV rays, which helps maintain the beauty of your home’s interior by protecting window treatments and furnishings. Combined with its energy-efficient design, the Pella Hurricane Window ensures optimal comfort, even during extreme weather.

Efficiency
